Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Visit The Goat, a kitchen and bar with something to offer everyone - the menu is a culinary cabaret of sorts. Connoisseurs of locally made brews and tonics will find solace at Batch Provisions, where they serve up batch provisions, tonics and cures, pizza, and all-around good vibes. The exterior hosts a mural by artist Bunnie Reiss and curated by the Carbondale Creative District.
The Carbondale Creative District hosts over 200 creative businesses, artists, and organizations, and it’s a very big reason that Carbondale has the funky vibe that it does. Grab a drink at Bonfire Coffee to start the day with conscious and ethically sourced craft coffee of exquisite quality, then visit one of the District's many ‘happenings’ before heading to Carbondale Beer Works for plenty of bourbons, tacos, and beers.
Things to Do
Carbondale offers many events that are a pleasure for the whole family to attend. First Friday, a branch of the Carbondale Chamber, is right at the heart of the Carbondale’s Creative District. Browse the main Street business, community groups, and non-profit organization booths and events while supporting local artists.
To further support the community, be sure to browse the Carbondale Farmers’ Market, an eclectic collection of local producers of agriculture and art alike. The farmers’ market is held every Wednesday at 4th and Main Street downtown, and the booths showcase the best fresh produce from the Western Slope.
Seeking some adventure? Check out Carbondale’s very own rodeo, the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo, which is held every Thursday night from 7:30-9:00 pm, June through August. Carbondale is also known for its fantastic hiking, biking, and fishing opportunities, all of which are popular pastimes for locals. Get in some exercise by hiking up Mushroom Rock, enjoy the stunning views from Thomas Lakes Trail, or grab your bike and hit the evergreen-filled Lorax Trail.
